Blast Basket and Protective Blankets

Blast baskets (blast bins) and protective blankets are designed for use in conjunction with cabinet or conveyor X-ray scanners. They provide enhanced protection for personnel and premises in the event of an improvised explosive device (IED) detonation.

The mobile blast containers and blankets are designed and tested to withstand an explosive device concealed within a suspect package. Constructed from woven composite materials, they are engineered to mitigate blast effects and fragmentation caused by an IED.

The blast bin is designed so that, in the event of an explosion inside the container, the blast is directed upwards while the sides contain or significantly reduce fragmentation. The removable inner bag is made from fire-retardant plastic to help retain contents if a device is activated within the container.

The bomb blanket allows a suspect item to be covered in situ without disturbing the package. A Letter Bomb Pouch is also available, suitable for A4-sized items up to 4 cm thick. The pouch can be effectively X-rayed and provides additional protection against radio interference.

Suitable for airports, government facilities, postal sorting centers, courts, financial institutions, and other critical infrastructure environments.
