The CYPRES is a professional automatic or manually operated reserve parachute activator, designed to maximize safety during skydiving. The system activates when it detects a descent rate exceeding 78 mph (35 m/s) at an approximate altitude of 750 ft (225 m) above ground level (AGL).

For civil Sport CYPRES models, users can adjust the activation altitude, providing flexibility for different jump types and operational conditions.
