Fast rope release hook

The Tyler “Universal” Fast Rope Release Hook is designed for safe and reliable fast rope deployment during helicopter insertion operations.

Unlike the standard Tyler Fast Rope Release Hook used on Eurocopter AS350 / Eurocopter AS355 and MD-500 helicopters—where the hook is operated by the pilot or co-pilot via a cable and handle lever—the “Universal” version is intended for large helicopters and is operated directly by a crew member positioned at the side door or rear ramp.

The hook is activated by a pull handle located at the rear of the unit. It features a two-position safety latch for normal operations and a lockout pin for training exercises.

The Universal Hook is designed for mounting on existing hoist or repelling arms installed at large helicopter side doors or rear ramps. It supports both standard and large-diameter fast ropes.
