Fast-rope hook

The Fast-Rope Hook by Tyler Special Operations Platforms was designed with the highest safety and engineering standards for fast-rope insertion operations.

Safety Concept

The hook is engineered to lock the rope securely in place when a load is applied. This function prevents accidental release while personnel are conducting fast-rope operations.

Unlike conventional cargo hooks, which are designed to release under load in the event of an aircraft emergency, the Tyler Fast-Rope Hook provides a fail-safe condition specifically for fast-roping personnel. In this case, operational safety is centered on protecting the roping team members.

Post-Operation Release

Once all fast-ropers are safely on the ground, the rope can be jettisoned using a two-function T-handle cable release mounted inside the aircraft cabin.

Additionally, the hook can be physically locked in place to prevent activation of the cable release. This option is particularly suitable for training environments where the highest level of safety is required.

Rescue Hoist Compatibility

The Fast-Rope Hook can be attached to rescue hoist brackets. However, rescue hoist manufacturers generally do not recommend using the hoist itself for fast-rope operations due to the additional stress placed on the hoist cable attachment point.

Since rescue hoists were not originally designed for fast-roping, the Tyler Fast-Rope Hook provides an ideal solution for operators who already have a rescue hoist system and wish to conduct fast-rope operations safely while preventing undue stress on the hoist assembly.

Tyler has developed a dedicated clamp system that allows quick and secure attachment of the Fast-Rope Hook to the rescue hoist bracket.
