Identification system

Quick, easy identification of strangers on the scene

Now get rapid on-site detection, identification and quantification of toxic industrial chemicals (TICs) and chemical warfare agents (CWAs) with HAPSITE® Smart, the only portable gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer (GC/MS) that gives you lab-quality data at the push of a button .

GC/MS is the standard for positive identification of organic chemicals with the highest degree of accuracy of all analytical techniques available. And with HAPSITE’s easy-to-use intelligent chemical identification system, users get the confirmatory results they need to make critical decisions affecting life, health, safety and mission within minutes.

Features at a glance
Fast, confirmatory results in the field directly comparable to laboratory GC/MS data. Pre-programmed methods to get quality data in minutes with a few simple keystrokes

Clear graphical display of chromatograms, spectra, instrument status and cal curves on the instrument for easy viewing

Weather resistant and easy to decontaminate

Built-in GPS records exact sampling location with date/time for legally defensible data

Simplicity, speed and accuracy
HAPSITE Smart is the most powerful, truly portable analytics tool available for field use. Its completely self-contained system with pre-programmed methods and 32-bit architecture for more versatile data processing means the operator can simply switch on the instrument to enable the appropriate method, set specified temperatures and automatically tune the instrument if required. HAPSITE Smart signals when it’s ready within minutes, and with the push of a button, sampling begins. Complete analysis results, including chromatograms, spectra, library search results and quantitative data, are displayed on a bright, clearly visible screen in daylight or darkness.

For the most demanding field analysis by the experienced GC/MS professional, the HAPSITE Smart enables custom method build-up, remote control and sophisticated data presentation using the rugged Panasonic® Toughbook® wireless notebook now available with the instrument.

Low detection limits at parts per trillion
In the HAPSITE Smart, the microtrap concentrator enables the detection and identification of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the low part-per-billion/part-per-trillion range, providing unprecedented sensitivity for on-site analysis. This can be useful when investigating problems caused by extremely low levels of contamination, such as odor complaints, sick building syndrome or chemical warfare agents.

Smart innovations
INFICON offers an economical upgrade to HAPSITE Smart for standard HAPSITE chemical identification systems.
