Lecco 2.0

Stretcher for hostile environments
An evolution of a proven classic – Lecco 2.0 is a new rescue stretcher designed for mountain rescue operations, maintaining the versatility of the previous version while introducing a range of improvements that make it even more universal and efficient.

Product selected by CNSAS – National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps (Corpo Nazionale Soccorso Alpino e Speleologico).

Main Features:

  • New, comfortable, and reinforced carrying bag with lifting capability, allowing for extremely fast stowage.

  • Ready for use in less than one minute, assembled by a single operator.

  • Pre-assembled frame and bag – with no loose components that could be misplaced.

  • New ergonomic handles with variable cross-sections (oval–round) for better load distribution on the shoulders and more comfortable handling.

  • Lateral zipper with four sliders, allowing partial opening for inspection and treatment of the injured person.

  • Additional zipper at the foot area.

  • Colour-coded immobilization straps for quick and efficient handling.

  • Transparent visor allows continuous visual contact with the injured person.

  • Wide range of accessories ensuring maximum reliability under various operating conditions.

Technical Specifications:

Total stretcher length including shoulder supports: 3.1 m, without supports: 2 m.
When folded into its transport rucksack: 85 × 55 × 22 cm.
Weight: 16 kg (without carrying bag).

The fabric cover is equipped with a system of colour-coded straps allowing secure fixation of the injured person at all key points.
Four external compression straps ensure safe patient restraint.
A double zipper allows the cover to be fully opened, including the section for the lower limbs.
An additional zipper is provided at the foot area.
The generous dimensions of the cover and the length of the compression straps allow for the insertion of a vacuum mattress (essential for immobilizing the patient).

Shoulder Supports:

Front and rear shoulder supports are equipped with comfortable padding.
The front supports can be inserted in a straight position for transport on standard terrain, or reversed for extremely steep slopes or overhangs, preventing the rescuer from slipping out of the shoulder harness.
The length of the rear supports provides excellent ground visibility for the rescuer during transport.

Load Capacity and Safety:

The stretcher, including shoulder supports, is designed for a Safe Working Load (SWL) evenly distributed over the entire surface of 180 kg (safety factor 1:4).
This load must never be applied to a single point.
Kong has simulated real operating conditions in its laboratory and conducted destructive testing through static tensile loading.
The suspension kit for helicopter or cableway operations is rated for an SWL of 500 kg (safety factor 1:4).

The wide lowering strap, when correctly installed according to instructions, is guaranteed for an SWL of 400 kg (safety factor 1:4).

Award:

Winner of the Compasso d’Oro, Honourable Mention, 1994.
