MAXI Recoilless

The RE70 M3 PLUS is a modular 40 mm recoilless disruptor, the largest system within the Chemring family of recoilless disruptors.

It can be configured to neutralize a wide range of threats, both conventional (UXB) and unconventional (C‑IED), using various projectiles at close range or from a stand-off distance. The RE70 M3 PLUS is a theatre-proven disruptor system in service with multiple nations and agencies worldwide.

Its near 100% recoilless design makes it ideal for integration on RGV platforms and has been successfully deployed on most medium and large RGV systems. All CTS recoilless disruptors can be used in conjunction with CTS exploders or high-performance radio firing systems.

FEATURES

The RE70 M3 PLUS is supplied as a standard kit containing all the equipment required for EOD operators to neutralize a wide range of threats.

Barrel Set

The RE70 M3 PLUS includes three barrels:

• Choked barrel – Designed for waterjet disruption.

• Dearming barrel (1”) – Typically used for conventional munitions disposal. Provides recoilless dearmer capability using 1” dearming projectiles, also effective against selected C‑IED threats.

• 40 mm stand-off barrel – Used with specially designed stand-off projectiles up to 30 m. Ideal for C‑IED threats at greater distances where operator or RGV access is restricted. Can be sighted using two lasers or the telescopic sight.

All barrels use the RE70 Chemring balanced recoilless system with the same consumables across the range, reducing inventory and training requirements.

Cartridges

RE70 M3 PLUS uses three cartridge types optimized for different shot types:

• SHG – Optimized for watershot (choked barrel)

• HV – Optimized for projectile shot (40 mm barrel)

• MV – Optimized for dearming shot (1” barrel)

Cartridges are supplied in ammo tins of 50 (M2A1 or H83). They were the first EOD 0.5” cartridges classified as 1.4S and tested according to CIP/EPVAT methodology.

Multi-Position Stand

The RE70 comes with an easy-to-use multi-position stand that can be set in various positions, including low shots, giving the EOD operator full flexibility.
