MINI EXPLODER

Mini exploder

The Mini‑Shrike has been specifically designed to provide military engineering units with a lightweight, single‑output electronic exploder for controlled and reliable initiation tasks.

Based on proven Shrike technology, the Mini‑Shrike is a single‑channel exploder that can be operated with one hand, ensuring safe and dependable initiation of electro‑explosive devices in demanding field conditions. Its compact and ergonomic design makes it suitable for rapid deployment and tactical operations where simplicity and reliability are critical.

The Mini‑Shrike must be primed before any firing sequence can occur. Initiation requires the simultaneous pressing of two independent buttons, significantly reducing the risk of accidental detonation should the charged (primed) unit be dropped.

The output circuit remains inhibited until the device is fully primed, preventing partial or unintended firing. A built‑in continuity check is available prior to firing, and output energy cannot be released into a circuit whose resistance exceeds the preset maximum limit. This resistance threshold is well below that of the human body, thereby eliminating electrical hazards to the operator.

OPERATION

The single firing circuit is connected using spring‑loaded terminals for quick and secure attachment. Circuit continuity is verified by pressing the TEST button, with a green LED indicating a confirmed and functional connection.

By lifting the PRIME flap located on the right‑hand side of the unit, the red LED begins flashing to indicate that the device is primed. With fully charged batteries, priming typically takes approximately two seconds. While the red LED is flashing, the connected circuit can be initiated by simultaneously pressing both the TEST and FIRE buttons (the FIRE button is positioned beneath the PRIME flap).
