Mini-Shrike – Electronic Exploder

The Mini-Shrike has been designed as a lightweight, single-output electronic exploder to meet the requirements of military engineering units.

Based on proven Shrike technology, the Mini-Shrike is a single-channel exploder that can be safely and reliably operated with one hand for the initiation of electro-explosive devices.

The Mini-Shrike must be primed before firing.
Firing requires the simultaneous activation of two buttons, minimizing the risk of accidental initiation should a charged or primed unit be dropped.

The output is inhibited unless the unit is fully primed, preventing partial firing.
A continuity indication is available prior to firing, and output energy cannot be released into a circuit with resistance exceeding a preset maximum. This resistance level is significantly lower than that of the human body, thereby eliminating any electrical hazard to the operator.

Operation

• The single firing circuit is connected via spring-loaded terminals

• Circuit continuity is checked by pressing the TEST button

• A green LED indicates a positive circuit connection

Lifting the PRIME flap on the right-hand side of the unit causes the red LED to flash, indicating the unit is primed.
This typically takes approximately two seconds with good batteries.

While the red LED is flashing, the load circuit can be fired by simultaneously pressing the TEST and FIRE buttons (the FIRE button is located beneath the PRIME flap).
