MINI REMOTE CONTROLLED MINE CLEARANCE SYSTEM

Anti-personnel mines are destroyed by the impact force of the flail attachment. The flail attachment is a hardened steel shaft with hammers attached to the end of the chains. During demining, the shaft rotates and the hammers strike the ground, shattering or activating embedded mines. The power of the flail hammers is calculated to enable cutting through thick vegetation and digging into the soil to a depth of up to 32 cm. Chains and hammers can be quickly replaced in case of damage.

The MV-4 demining system is a tracked, remotely operated machine designed to clear all types of anti-personnel (AP) mines and is resistant to all types of anti-tank (AT) mines. Due to its small dimensions and maneuverability, it is suitable for demining family yards, orchards, forest paths, riverbanks and other types of terrain that are inaccessible to larger machines. A variety of operational demining and land processing tools will destroy even the smallest anti-personnel pressure mines and the most dangerous types of hopping fragmentation mines. The machine is remotely controlled from an armored vehicle or from a safe distance. The engine and important parts of the machine are protected by steel plates.

Design

The MV-4 was designed to perform only one task – demining. It is not a modified construction machine or a tank. MV-4 is the 5th model in the series of MV demining systems. To date, more than 35 million square meters of demined terrain have been mechanically cleared with the DOK-ING system.

Productivity

Thanks to its small dimensions, very good maneuverability, high engine power and low pressure on the road, the MV-4 can work all year round in almost all conditions. Cleaning productivity is up to 2200 m² per hour.

Mobility and maneuverability

MV-4’s small dimensions and low road pressure allow the machine to pass through difficult terrain such as ditches, urban areas, canals, etc.

The MV-4 can drive and work on highly inclined terrain both transversely and longitudinally:

cleaning of transverse slopes of 35° up and down
driving on transverse slopes of 45° up and down
cleaning longitudinal slopes of 20° driving on longitudinal slopes of 35°
The MV-4 can move very close to obstacles such as buildings and other structures in both parallel (25 cm) and perpendicular (75 cm) directions.
The work tool can be raised, lowered, extended and retracted to allow the system to navigate through difficult terrain such as trenches, obstacles, canals, etc.

The MV-4 can pass through water up to 45 cm deep without any special actions by the operator and can turn 360° at a single point.

The MV-4 is also capable of crossing a trench 0.5 m wide and 0.3 m deep and vertical obstacles about 0.3 m high. The MV-4 drives in both transverse and lateral inclination. It is also capable of self-recovery from a trench/canal using its hydraulic arms (extend/retract positions).

Protection
MV-4 is equipped with HARDOX steel plates. The MV-4 is highly resistant to landmine fragmentation and its low profile reduces its susceptibility to shrapnel damage.
The ability to withstand a mine explosion
Although the MV-4 is primarily designed to clear anti-personnel mines, there is always the possibility of encountering anti-tank mines during its operation.

The MV-4’s strongest ability to withstand anti-tank mine explosions was demonstrated at the Swedish EOD and Mine Action Center (SWEDEC) in July 2004.

The basic MV-4 model includes a flail attachment. Other tool attachments currently available for the MV-4 demining system are the roller attachment, blade tool attachment, gripper attachment, and machining tool attachment.
