Search and rescue dogs are trained to

Search and Rescue (SAR) dogs are highly trained K9 units specialized in locating missing persons in challenging environments. They are an essential asset for emergency services, disaster response teams, and rescue operations.

• Detect living persons buried under earth, rubble, or underground by following airborne scent particles.

• Trained to ignore distractions in the operational area, including scattered food, other rescuers, or rescue equipment.

• Operate effectively in complete darkness, using their acute sense of smell and hearing to locate victims.

• Each dog is estimated to perform the work of approximately 20 human searchers, significantly enhancing operational efficiency.

SAR dogs provide a critical advantage in time-sensitive rescue operations, saving lives in disaster and emergency scenarios.
