TSUNAMI DETECTION

Tsunami detection

The Tsunami Detection System is a critical early-warning solution designed to monitor ocean conditions and provide timely alerts of potential tsunami threats. The system uses a pressure recorder placed on the seabed to measure the weight of the water above it, which fluctuates with wave height.

Data collected by the seabed recorder is transmitted to a surface buoy, which monitors real-time sea conditions. The buoy then relays the information via satellite to a receiving station, enabling rapid analysis and timely dissemination of warnings to at-risk coastal areas.

Ideal for coastal protection agencies, maritime safety authorities, and disaster response teams, this system enhances situational awareness and supports proactive measures to safeguard lives and property against tsunami hazards.
